Abrah’s personal journey began with a life-threatening illness that found her on life supports for 6 weeks in an intensive care unit. This experience was her first step in her education towards holistic plant-based medicine.
After regaining her health, Abrah lived in meditation retreats centres for 8 years. During this time Abrah had the opportunity to participate in depth training in meditation, energy work including Reiki and shamanism.
After a year’s retreat in the Yukon wilderness, Abrah Arneson decided to begin a formal study of herbal medicine and enrolled in Dominion Herbal College’s 4 year Clinical Herbal Therapist program.
She now has been practicing Clinical Herbal Medicine for 17 years full time. While in herb school Abrah worked in the traditional health care system as a nurse’s aide in a small hospice where she cared for the dying. During this time Abrah trained doula and supported several women during birthing.
Abrah has a diverse range of experience working with a variety of conditions and different types of people including children and seniors. Currently, she finds many of the people she supports are struggling with chronic infections including Lyme Disease. Abrah also offers an integrative approach to using herbal medicine alongside mainstream cancer treatments. Abrah has supported many individuals with herbal medicine struggling with mental illness.
Abrah is author of the Herbal Apprentice: Plant Medicine and The Human Body and The Herbal Apprentice Workbook. Currently Abrah offers an herbal apprentice program in the Gatineau in Quebec.
